Digital links lead to crisper images

"In the consumer arena, digital systems are replacing previous analog generations across the board, and the ubiquitous cathode ray tube will soon join the displaced analog systems on the trash heap of history. Over the next five years, consumers will experience a rapid transition from bulky CRTs to sleek flat-panel displays (FPDs) and other digital displays on the desktop and in consumer devices. Digital displays offer an appealing appearance; but most important, they provide a rock-solid, crisp image, as well as lower cost, greater scalability and higher flexibility than their analog counterparts."
